81 sets of NABCO automatic sliding door operators including relevant optional devices were installed at Noi Bai International Airport Terminal 2.

Noi Bai International Airport (IATA: HAN, ICAO: VVNB), the biggest airport in northern Vietnam, serves the capital city of Hanoi. It is now covering routes with 36 airlines to 15 cities in Vietnam and 53 cities overseas, handling over 6 million passengers per year. This new terminal will raise the airport’s annual capacity to 10 million passengers to accommodate with the rapid growth in passenger volume, and it will become the biggest airport in Vietnam. Construction completed and the terminal has begun operation in January 2015.

Japanese ODA loan was used to construct this terminal and various Japanese state-of-art technologies has been adopted to allow the owner to operate and maintain the terminal properly. Among them, Nabco leading technologies for automatic doors were highly evaluated as well.

 

Sonha Auto, the official distributor of Nabtesco Corporation has been supporting this project by proposing the best entrance solution which provides a safe and barrier-free environment to the passengers.

“We proposed the best solution regarding pedestrian safety and comfort use to each place such as an entrance and a multipurpose toilet, introducing our supply records of airports as well as our maintenance sales service. Eventually, we succeeded to supply 81 sets of automatic sliding door” Nguyen Xuan Thang, Deputy General Director of Sonha Auto said.
 

The main entrances were constructed as a windbreak room with DSN-150 operating unit and EOS, Emergency Operating System. The operating system enhances energy efficiency and provides comfort to the building as well as safety for pedestrians in case of emergency.

At multipurpose toilets for physically handicapped people or for baby care, 34 sets of NABCO doors with HDS-4i* universally designed push button switches are installed.

In addition, at smoking rooms and nursery rooms, DSN-150 operating units with contact-free touch sensors which can prevent unnecessary openings and risks of contact infection caused by touch operation are installed.

Shopping center developer and operator Aeon Mall Co., a core member of Japan’s retail giant Aeon Co. Group., opened its third store in Vietnam in late October 2015 as it aims to expand its business there to 20 stores by 2025. The new mall is their third in the Hanoi area.

The store, Aeon Mall Long Bien, is located in the Long Bien district, some 5 kilometers west of Hanoi’s city center. It has four levels above ground and a basement parking area, and a site area of approximately 96,000 square meters with a gross floor area of 120,000 sq m, AEON MALL Long Bien is the largest project in the country to date. It comprises four floors with 180 outlets, workout gym, food court, and cinema complex. This store expected to attract 13 million customers a year.

Aeon Mall Long Bien is based on Japanese design and quality standards. Following other Aeon Mall projects, Obayashi – is the Japanese general contractor designing and constructing of this project worth USD200 million. And most of the equipment and facilities for the project are carefully selected from Japan or from G7 countries to ensure prestige and quality. The store is a harmonious combination of elements: commerce, cuisine, entertainment, events and new life styles.

Sonha Auto is the sub-contractor for this project. We proposed the ideal solutions regarding design and pedestrian safety introducing our supply records and maintenance sales service of our local distributor. As a result, we succeeded to supply 42 units of NABCO automatic doors with our latest advanced sensors, M Search in this large shopping mall.

This is the first installation of M Search, in Southeast Asia. Its high function to enhance the pedestrians’ safety and usability is evaluated.

With M Search and high quality automatic doors, Nabco is providing smooth, comfort, and safe passage to the entrances, corridors, escalator halls, and several places at Aeon Mall Long Bien are installed.

In November 2016, Sonha Auto started installation of a complete security entrance system for Russia Embassy in Hanoi comprising 3 layers (i) solid panel steel gate with barbed wire fence on the top (ii) automatic bollards (iii) automatic barrier. All of them are fully integrated in a command center for effective control of vehicles and pedestrians getting into and out of the Embassy.

All automatic operators of the Embassy security entrance system are BFT’s products of most updated versions which include ARES 1000 Sliding Gate Operator; STOPPY B Automatic Bollards and GIOTTO 60 Automatic Barrier. 

These most advanced products share BFT’s state-of-the-art technologies such as D-track (Dynamic force control for smooth and reliable operation), 24V (for safe and accurate operation) U-Link (for systematic and integrated control), Rolling Code (for secured radio transmission), etc.

The installation work has been carried out by Sonha Auto experienced and skilled technicians with support from BFT engineers and supervision from Russian experts to assure safety and quality in accordance with European installation procedures and standards. ERP is the common name of a desirable Enterprise Resource Planning software system that only a few corporations and big enterprises have enough budget, time and enthusiasm to implement.

The biggest difference between ERP and other management software is that everybody of any department in the company uses only one software with one database to handle his or her work.

Sonha Auto is the first automatic door enterprise in Vietnam that has successfully developed and applied an ERP system which is in line with the 4.0 corporate governance trend. The project started in August 2017, after a year, the first version was put into operation and until now, the software has been continually upgraded.

The ERP system is developed specifically according to the characteristics of the company’s business activities to help manage the entire value supply chain from acquiring materials and equipment; looking for customers and projects; making price quotations; negotiating contracts; processing orders; handling delivery and installation; providing warranty and maintenance services; debt management and customer care.

Before applying ERP, Sonha Auto already made use of information technology in operation management with VPAR –  the customer relationship management software and FAST – the accounting software.

However, to meet the new requirements on corporate governance of transparent, timely and accurate information a combination of all decentralized softwares cannot work, only an ERP system is possible.

The ERP system is developed with a web version for personal computers and an app version for smartphones. The entire database is stored by cloud computing technology, users can log into the software and handle their work anywhere and anytime with just a smartphone connected to the internet.

ERP is especially useful for project management allowing quick, accurate and detailed information extraction of any stage from consultation, quotation, bidding, contract negotiation, ordering equipment and materials, installation history, acceptance and handover, process of payment and liquidation of contracts.

ERP is an effective tool for after-sales service thanks to electronic warranty management technology using QR Code. With a quick scan QR Code by mobile phone, all information about customer, project, product details, installation time, warranty period, user’s manual, history of warranty claim will be automatically updated.

ERP application is an inevitable management trend, an important step in the business development strategy, requiring each manager to equip their business early.

Considered as a “magic wand” in management, the ERP system is being applied in a number of organizations and businesses with high efficiency. “The biggest challenge when implementing an ERP project is people, because the new ERP system will completely change the old way of working. Before applying ERP, employees often performed data entry on separate software and papers making it difficult for management. On the morning of June 27, 2023, two experts of NABCO – Japan’s number one automatic door company, came to Son Ha Auto’s headquarter to start a 3-day intensive training program on automatic door installation techniques.

Son Ha Automatic JSC was officially established on June 5, 2002. Over 20 years of development, Son Ha Auto has dominated the local market of providing “smart entrance solutions” for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

Since the first automatic door was manufactured in Japan in the 1950s, NABCO have developed a vast range of products for different applications. NABCO is now the leader and pioneer in the Japanese automatic door market and one of the major automatic door manufacturers in the world.

In Vietnam, NABCO automatic doors have been installed at many important projects such as the airport system (Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Phu Bai…); the chain of AEON Mall system (Long Bien, Ha Dong, Hai Phong, Tan Phu, Binh Tan, Binh Duong) and numerous hotels, commercial centers, office buildings and hospitals.

As NABCO’s leading market in Asia, Vietnam is the first country outside Japan selected by NABCO to organize training and granting certification for technicians. A technical training course for NABCO certification must fully meet the following requirements:

About facilities: A minimum area of 150m² is required which divides into two sections for class room training (with full audio-visual equipments, sound system, light, projector, desk for 20 students) and practice area (with sample door system, automatic door equipment, and installation tools to ensure only four students practice on 1 set of automatic doors).

About the trainer: NABCO’s experts have high level technical qualifications with many years of experience and especially possess a certificate of automatic door installation issued by the Japan Automatic Door Association (JADA).

About students: Technicians must meet high requirements such as having more than three years of experience installing automatic doors, working on large projects, and installing many automatic doors. This training session gathered 16 skilled technicians of Son Ha Auto and sub-distributors from the Northern, Central, and Southen of Vietnam.

On the first day of training, trainees were carefully instructed and practiced installing a complete set of automatic doors with basic configuration according to NABCO’s precise installation process and fully meeting technical standards of Japan Industrial Standards (JIS).

During the second training day, NABCO experts trained and gave practical instructions on the installation, connection, and set up of optional accessories including the program switch (APS-A10), Emergency Operation System (EOS), Electric lock (SKD-T10), Extended converter (IO-A10); The interlocking system and especially the motion direction sensor avoid unintentional door opening (VD-A10).

The last day is dedicated to testing for certification and skills contest for automatic door installation. 16 participants were divided into 8 teams, each team consisted of 2 technicians competing to install and set up a complete set of automatic doors with a maximum time of 60 minutes.

At the end of the test and skills contest, all participating teams completed their tasks in the allotted time and received a “Technical Skills Training Certificate” from NABCO. Prizes and souvenirs of NABCO were awarded to the 5 teams with the fastest installation time.

 

Commenting on the training session, experts from NABCO highly praised the automatic door installation skills of the Vietnamese technical team and the extremely meticulous organization of Son Ha Auto.

In addition, NABCO experts also shared that besides good product quality, the quality of installation work plays an extremely important role for a set of automatic doors to operate correctly, stably, smoothly and durably.

In the current trend of modernization and automation, automatic doors will be used more and more widely in residential, commercial and public projects.
